17 teachers from Russia arrived in Kyrgyzstan to teach in secondary schools of the republic.

They will teach in 17 schools in Kyrgyzstan throughout the 2019-20 academic year.

Kyrgyzstan became the second country-participant of the Russian humanitarian project in the direction of subject teachers. Since 2017, the Republic of Tajikistan has been accepting Russian specialists.

The initiator of the project was the chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko, and the direct implementation is carried out by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation.

This year 48 Russian teachers of primary grades, Russian language and literature, mathematics, chemistry, biology, physics, computer science and geography continue to work in more than 20 schools in the Republic of Tajikistan.

Earlier, the special role of the project was emphasized by the Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Olga Vasilieva. 

“I myself have been to Tajikistan, met with these teachers, and I want to admit to you that the warmth of relations and interaction with colleagues in the pedagogical workshop suggests that our countries are increasingly strengthening their educational partnership. I would like to thank Tajikistan for the fact that our teachers are surrounded by constant care, and the atmosphere of the educational space is truly admirable, ”said Vasilyeva.

The project was recognized as successful and was repeatedly noted during bilateral meetings, including at the highest level. It was emphasized that the activities of the teachers led to an increase in the level of Russian language proficiency among local schoolchildren.

At the moment, the Ministry of Education of Russia, together with foreign colleagues, is working on the issue of expanding the project and its implementation in Vietnam, Serbia, Slovakia and Mongolia.

“These seminars are aimed at a wide audience: they often involve not only school teachers, but also parents, since in Russian-speaking families abroad, it is the parents who are the first language teachers, and they also need methodological help,” Bunina added. 

It is specified that in 2019 the RCSC launched the TORFL certification program in Russian as a foreign language within the framework of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ​​(international testing in Russian for foreign students, for English a similar testing system is called TOEFL).

“This is a system for assessing the level of language proficiency, adopted by the European Union and has already become international. Until now, there has been no official body in Belgium that conducts examination sessions and issues diplomas of the level of Russian language proficiency recognized in the EU countries. Now there is such a body – this is the RCSC in Brussels, we already held the first session in June this year, and issued 11 certification diplomas. Of these, only two applicants were Belgians, the rest were citizens of other EU states, employees of EU institutions, ”Bunina said. 

The number of students of Russian language courses operating at the RCSC in Brussels has grown by 30% over the past academic year and exceeded 200 people.
